dvd burner -- also saving forum

ok i'm saving this forum too by asking a question about hardware

i am interested in getting a dvd burner but i dont understand all this +/-, double plus good, minus plus plus RW CD-DR-RW-AB-CD-EF-G Happy-Happy Big Brother is Watching nonsense.

someone please explain a little for me and perhaps point me in the direction of the best dvd burner i will ever need. and cheapest.

also, a dvd burner burns cds too right?

Yes, a DVD burner will also burn CD's, as well as read CD's and DVD's.

You probably want a DVD +/- RW, that will cover just about all the formats you'll need. + and - are two competing formats, though these days most burners support both, thus the +/-.

I have a Plextor 16x DVD +/- RW burner. It also does Burns CD-RWs at 48x and reads CDs at 52.
