Call of Cthulhu Shipped

A game based on the writings of one of the most frightening authors of all time has shipped just in time for Halloween. Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth is inspired by the Cthulhu Mythos that was created by the American fantasy and horror writer H.P. Lovecraft. The Cthulhu Mythos describes a vast system of gruesome creatures and terrifying locations created by Lovecraft. Various other authors expanded the idea into a horrific universe. The game will be published by 2K Games and developed by Headfirst Productions, the publisher of the original Call of Cthulhu pen and paper RPG.

Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth is set in the 1920?s, and pits players against evil incarnate in a mix of exploration, puzzle solving, and combat. The first-person horror game will take advantage of an upcoming trend in that genre: no HUD at anytime during the game. Sights, sounds, and in-game graphics will be used convey the character?s mental degradation.

Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth has a suggested retail price of $39.99, and is rated M for Mature. For more information on the game and the Lovecraft inspired universe it inhabits visit www.callofcthulhu.com.
