Bad Company going Next Gen

EA and Digital Illusions are preparing an irreverent addition to the Battlefield series for next generation consoles.

Battlefield: Bad Company will throw players in with a renegade squad of soldiers as they go behind enemy lines not for valor or honor, but on a personal mission for gold and revenge. EA promises a deep, cinematic single-player experience that will take full advantage of next generation console power. The sandbox style single-player gameplay, and full suite of multiplayer options, will feature massively destructible environments.

"In a world that's 90 percent destructible, the gameplay possibilities are infinite," said Karl Magnus Troedsson, senior producer at DICE, "the battlefield is always changing, forcing players, teammates, and enemies to react accordingly. Gamers will have total freedom to adapt to and tackle challenges in creative Battlefield-style ways."

EA and Digital Illusions also hope to pack the game's storyline with adventure and a good dose of dark humor.

Battlefield: Bad Company is currently in development for both the Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms. The game is scheduled to ship sometime in 2007.
