Atari unveils Boiling Point

By David Craddock

Atari has sent word along to Mygamer formally announcing Boiling Point: Road to Hell, a first-person action game that was formerly known as Xenus.

The game is set in the vast and dangerous jungles of South America, where the player will come into contact with various factions heatedly engaged in a guerrilla war. The press release boldly claims that levels will have no intermediate load times, but we’ll have to wait and see.

“Boiling Point: Road to Hell will push the boundaries of what people think first-person action games can do, with its unbelievable scale of the game world and the ability to choose your own path,” said Wim Stocks, Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Atari. “Working with Deep Shadows is really exciting – they bring a fresh look and innovative ideas to a genre that needs new avenues for exploration.”

Boiling Point: Road to Hell is currently scheduled for release in Spring 2005. No rating has been given at this point.
